Chianti is a wide area among the hills of Florence Siena and Arezzo. It is very famous for the production of wine, which is renowned all over the world. The name of this region comes from the toponymy Clante, an Etruscan word which means “water”, this is due to the richness of water. Clante is also the name of some Etruscan Families who lived here. Others think that the word would derive from the Latin Clangor which means “noise” to remember the noise during the hunting parties in the woods of the area.
